Judging criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of AI experts, educators, and ethics specialists based on the five guiding principles of Responsible AI.
Ethics by Design
How well does the solution embed ethical thinking from the outset? Are fairness, privacy, and accountability built into the core design?
Local Context & Relevance
Does the solution reflect Nigerian and African realities? How effectively does it address a real local challenge or community need?
Transparency & Explainability
Can users understand how the AI system makes decisions? Is the solution clear about its capabilities, limitations, and data usage?
Safety & Harm Reduction
Does the solution identify and minimize potential risks? How are misinformation, bias, privacy violations, and other harms addressed?
Human Agency & Accountability
Does the solution keep humans in control of important decisions? Is there clear accountability for the system's outcomes?
